Huntersville

This project is all about the KIDS and includes three rooms redesigned for brothers who are best friends: a shared bedroom, a bathroom, and a family entertainment room. Working kiddos’ personalities into stylish spaces can be a balancing act. These rooms are big on color for wow factor, with playful touches for a dose of whimsy. The lucky little boys who live here had a hand in choosing their favorite dΓ©cor for display, They helped select the color palettes, too. Allowing kids to participate in the process makes designing a space they love as much as their parents do possible.

The client story

β€œOur house is the β€˜fun house’ always filled with growing boys, and we want it to stay that way. I wasn’t sure we could create awesome spaces for the grownups to appreciate but durable enough for the kids to enjoy. Even though I’m married to a designer, I have a hard time seeing the vision. I’ve learned to trust the process (like I have a choice), and I’m glad I did. I remember walking into our bonus room and being shocked at the transformation. I know we designed it for the kids, but I love being in there, too. Even if you’re nervous, just go for it – you’ll be happy you did. (Most importantly, your wife will be happy, too!)”
